The Spiderbot, as the name suggests, will be a robotic spider capable of traversing rough, uneven terrain while maintaining a spider-like gait and appearance. The design is still in consideration, but will be based off of a popular hexapod model consisting of a sandwich design for a body with six legs protruding symmetrically from its sides.
Many factors are taken into consideration when designing a spider-bot: Should it be fast? Does it need to be able to lift a sizeable load? Maybe it needs a lengthy operational life duration. Perhaps it just needs to be functional and cost-friendly (Spiderbots can get expensive in a hurry with their notoriously heavy use of servos.). The Spiderbot will aim to be cost-friendly and capable of maintaining a decent speed during its walk. If time permits, further functionality may be integrated as well.
